Monthly Inspiration vol. 1

I have decided to start a weekly blog entry that consists of things that inspire me.

It's only fitting that the inaugural post belongs to the artist AJ Mastay. I have been following his work for quite some time now and I finally got a chance to meet him on the lot in Saratoga Springs a few weeks back.

His main medium are prints. His motto "Blending Old-world Craftsmanship with Modern Day Imagery" encapsulates his art perfectly. His work is unbelievable and you really have to see his prints in person to really see the amount of colours and detail he creates. I have no idea how he gets the incredible fades and blends that he does.

He has been an official poster maker for bands such as Umphrey's McGee, Further and Ratdog to name a few.

As far as I can see he's living the dream: doing his art, going on tour all the time and making friends along the way.

Check out his web site where you can see all kinds of great stuff.
