Canadians For Compassion launches iPhone App

Published on 19 May 2011.

Canadians for Compassion would like to announce the official launch of the "Compassion App" now available on the Canadian iTunes Store.

The "Compassion App" is free, and will enable Canadians to use their iPhone to share experiences of compassion, either offered or received, which will then automatically "ping" to the map of Canada on the home page for Compassion Canada, www.canadians4compassion.org. Canadians will be able to see and learn of other Canadian individuals, organizations, institutions and companies who are making our country a better place for all through acts of compassion.

The Compassion App was designed by London marketing communications company Hall Associates in tandem with Jannet Ann Nojannrdemann, founder of Canadians for Compassion.

Canadians For Compassion seeks the uniting of Canadians through affirmation of the Charter for Compassion. The Compassion App and the Compassion web site will help showcase Canadians whose individual efforts and programs demonstrate compassion-in-action in all sectors of society. Additionally it will give Canadians the opportunity to share personal stories of how compassion has impacted their lives and the lives of others. It will also demonstrate how communities with municipal and provincial/territorial governments can create "Compassionate Cities" throughout Canada, leading to Canada's Parliament affirming the Charter for Compassion and declaring Canada a "Compassionate Country". London city council just recently voted in favour of delegating London as a compassionate city, only the second in the world to do so.

Canadians For Compassion strives to ignite compassionate initiatives in communities, schools, businesses, academic, scientific and social sectors from sea to sea, and from the 49th parallel to above the Arctic Circle.
